MAIYSHA opens the evening for the Hope For Them Foundation.

Grammy nominated and gorgeous Maiysha was a treat indeed for us to have last night and did not disappoint, opening the evening for the Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort, at the Hope For Them Foundation Fundraising Event with a sincere and beautiful acoustic set, mesmerizing the audience with the powerful range and beauty of her voice and  a flawless delivery, bringing us a soulful and meaningful rendition of the song "Fix You" by Coldplay that she followed with the title track of her first album "This Much Is True."

Maiysha's voice is soulful, quiet, soothing, almost husky. But when she starts to let go with her gospel-style roar, she grows looser and stronger, pulling you closer, seductively, more and more with each song. Accompanied in beautiful, harmonious synch by Robin Macatangay on acoustic guitar. Personally, I can't wait for my next infusion of Maiysha.

I was amazed by all the talent's professionalism and dedication. Grammy nominee, singer Maiysha mesmerized opening the night,  host Tamara Tunie, Tony Award winner, actress (flight, Law & Order) took charge like a general, making the evening move forward timely and flawlessly. Lynn Childers accepted the Hope For Them award for her husband Sam, former Motorcycle band member, founder of Angels of East Africa for his humanitarian work, rescuing children in Nimule, the war zone of South Sudan that was followed a presentation of New York Cares.

Roderick Covington sizzled opening the 2nd half of the program with an amazing energy bringing the house down accompanied by his band Musaic aka 4 jews and a brotha. Brandon Schraml caused complete silence within the audience introducing a powerful Javert with a passionate delivery of the song Stars (Victor Hugo's Les Miserables).  Erica Ferrari (Reporter Current TV & anchor at CBS Money Watch) threw in a very nice sense of humor, closing the evening on a meaningful note.
